Alkalizing Your Own Drinking Water

Alkalizing your own drinking water at home is easy, anyone can do this. In fact, you should and this will be so beneficial for your health. A few simple steps are all it takes; then create the habit to follow through and you are all set. Learning this has personally helped me to feel better and improve myself. Furthermore, as a Crohn’s patient, learning about alkalizing foods and drinking water has significantly impacted my life.

First of all: Alkalizing your own water is not costly

Alkalizing your own drinking water saves money and is good for your body and PH level

Most people think alkaline water is expensive, if you buy it retail it is! This is because many don’t know that you can make your own! Bottled water is a big industry that is great at making money from ignorance. Full of gimmicks and of course the competition with so many brands available!

I’m not Anti-Bottled water though. Bottled water, as well as many organizations, is something that has saved countless lives during humanitarian crises! Although, there are many that are against the use of plastic containers due to their environmental effects. Fortunately, there is a way that individuals can make a difference and lessen the impact! More on that later!

Different ways to Alkalize your own Drinking Water

There are many ways to make your own alkaline water easily. Listed below are a few of the most common as well as preferred methods:

  • Baking Soda: Add a little baking soda (1/2 teaspoon) per 1 Gallon of Purified water (Shake Well). Or (1/8 tablespoon) per 8oz. glass. This is a common method due to the PH of Baking Soda being a level 9. Also, it has no effect on the flavor of the water.
  • Lemon Juice: Using lemon juice in water is a great way to alkalize water. Many believe because lemons are acidic this doesn’t work, but the truth is that it does. In fact, lemon water helps neutralize stomach acid! Plus, it works fast and has a lasting effect. Most recommend (1 tablespoon) of lemon juice per 8oz. (Do Not Add Sugar) Lemonade is a different story!
  • Sea Salt: Adding sea salt to purified water is another great way to achieve alkalinity. (Pink-Himalayan Sea Salt) is even better. Sea salt also adds minerals that will enhance flavor. Take care not to add too much though! Just add a pinch to a bottle next time and you’re all set.

Use Purified Drinking Water When making Alkaline Water

Alkalizing and Purifiers to get the purest water possible

Lemon juice and Sea Salt combined is my personal method. Pink Himalayan Sea Salt is best when available. Often, Pink Himalayan salt can be hard to source. Regular sea salt is readily available and works just fine. (add a slice of cucumber for added enjoyment)

It is important to use Purified Water. Water purifiers are everywhere and most are overpriced, while there are many on the market, we have our favorite! We recommend the only Water Purification Machine that is 100% Glass (Filters contain no plastics). Visit our page for more details on how to get yours.

Using our water purification machine is a great way to reduce the environmental effects of plastic on our planet! Individuals can make a difference, small efforts create big change in our communities! Be a positive influence and recycle when you can!
